Rains in Oman: Keep away from flowing wadis

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has reported flowing wadis from several areas in various governorates, especially in Dakhiliyah, South al Batinah Governorate.
Heavy rains (25-50 mm) accompanied by active downward winds in the range of (30-45 knots) are expected in Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and North al Batinah South al Batinah, North al Sharqiyah, South al Sharqiya, Buraimi, and Al Dhahirah.
There are chances of hail and floods due to flowing wadis with reduced horizontal visibility in some governorates.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) called on everyone to take caution and caution during thunderstorms, not to cross valleys, avoid low places, and not to go to the sea.
The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre has indicated that a trough of low pressure ( AlAtaya ) is expected to affect the Sultanate from today till Monday, May 10.
'Varying intensity rain occasionally thundershowers associated with fresh to very fast winds and hail over Musandam governorate and Al Hajar Mountains and surroundings extend to the coastal areas of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat and South Al Sharqiya and flash floods (wadis) are expected and chances of isolated rain over parts of Al Wusta governorate. Chances of blowing dust and flying of unstable objects due to wind,' the report said.
Whereas, sea state will be slightly moderate along with most of the coastal areas with a maximum wave height of 1.5 meters.
