AL RUSTAQ: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Al Musannah and Rustaq College of Education are set to host a grand graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024. The event will take place on December 9 at the Al Rustaq Sports Complex in Al Batinah South Governorate, honouring 767 graduates — 526 from UTAS Al Musannah and 241 from Rustaq College of Education.


The ceremony will be held under the esteemed auspices of Shaikh Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ). It will be attended by Dr Said al Rubaie, UTAS Vice-Chancellor, along with members of the State Council, distinguished officials from the Al Batinah North and Al Batinah South Governorates, and the proud families of the graduates.


Dr Hamoud al Wardi, Dean of Rustaq College of Education, emphasised that the event will celebrate graduates from diverse disciplines, including the Colleges of Engineering and Technology, Economics and Business Administration, Computing and Information Sciences, and Education in Science, Mathematics and English. The graduates, who have earned Bachelor’s, Advanced Diploma and Diploma degrees, are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel in the job market and contribute to Oman’s growth.

The organising committees have finalised all preparations for this momentous occasion. After extensive meetings, the schedule and media coverage plans are in place to ensure the ceremony is seamless and befitting of its significance. Both UTAS Al Musannah and Rustaq College of Education are dedicated to celebrating the students’ dedication and academic achievements.


Dr Nasser al Bimani, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of UTAS Al Musannah, noted the unique nature of this year’s celebration, as it unites graduates from both institutions under one roof. This collaboration symbolises the unified commitment to fostering academic excellence and producing graduates who will contribute effectively to the nation’s development.
