MUSCAT, MAY 8
Indian School Muscat and Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir have both qualified for the finals of the Basketball Championship for Foreign Schools, organised by the Oman Sports Association in collaboration with Azzan Bin Qais International School, Madinat Sultan Qaboos in Bausher.
The Indian School Muscat will compete in the boys section, while the Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir will participate in the girls category. The final qualifiers for the tournament will take place from May 14 to 17 at the Azzan Bin Qais School, Madinat Sultan Qaboos branch.
The teams' qualification came after they emerged victorious in the preliminary qualifiers, where each school was represented by two teams, male and female. A total of 12 teams from six schools participated in the competition, including Indian School Al Seeb,
the International Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, Indian School Wadi Al Kabir Branch, Indian School Al Ghubra, Indian School Muscat and Indian School Darsait.
Indian School Muscat secured the top spot in the boys section by defeating Indian School Darsait while Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir qualified at the expense of Indian School Al Ghubra in the girls section.
The preliminary qualifiers witnessed great competition between the teams, displaying their basketball skills and determination to secure a spot in the finals. The Indian Schools' success in the competition reflects their commitment to sports and their efforts to
promote a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
