Oman Flour Mills Company announced it will open on Thursday the Gulf International Poultry Farm in Al Subaikhi area in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate.
With an area of 18 million square metres, the farm is one of the largest poultry farms for egg production in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The farm was established in partnership between the investment arm of Oman Mills, the Gulf-Japan Food Fund, Japan’s Weiss Foods and IFFCO.
Haitham bin Mohammed al Fannah, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Flour Mills, said, “The project, whose investment cost exceeds RO 26 million, will serve the needs of the local market of table eggs with a production capacity of 360 million eggs annually and supports the export sector of the Sultanate of Oman through the export of surplus to the markets of the region.”
In a statement to Oman News Agency, Al Fannah added that the project’s feasibility would increase with the increasing demand for protein-rich eggs. It is worth-noting that the farm was established using Japan’s advanced techniques and expertise.
