Second show jumping competition launched

The Oman Equestrian Federation (OEF) organised the second show jumping competitions for the season 2022-23, at Al Rahba farm in the Wilayat of Barka, among 100 horses of government units, and private stables.
The competitions were held in eight categories, six for the OEF. It included the new category with hurdles height of 70 cm, beginners category 1 with hurdles height of 90 cm, the junior category 2 at the height of 100 cm, the minor category at 110 cm hurdles height, the middle category at a height of 120 cm, and the major category at a height of 130 cm. In addition there were two categories within the Al Rayyan Stables League for the Future Knights, which is the junior category at a height of 100 cm, and the major category at a height of 110 cm.
In the OEF category for new juniors at the height of the hurdles 70 cm, five horses out of eight managed to complete the round without errors. Thirteen horses participated in OEF beginners category 1 for height of 90 cm.
Ali bin Mustafa al Lawati on ‘Roel’ from Mojo Equestrian Centre won the first place, Fnida Chahboon on ‘History’ from the Olympic Equestrian Centre claimed second, Mazen bin Zayed al Mukhaini on ‘Maltasir’ from Mojo Equestrian Centre finished third, and the fourth was Sarah bint Ahmed al Saidia on 'Malibu' from Olympic Equestrian Center.
In the OEF beginners category 2 (100 cm height), 14 horses participated. Ahmed bin Ali al Kharousi won the first place on ‘Vangia Ski’ from Al Rayyan Stables, Sultan bin Rashid al Toqi on ‘Dan de Berheit’ from Olympic Centre was second, Al Yaqeen bint Taher al Canadian on ‘Earl Jerry’ from Al Rayyan Stables was third and ‘Barajs’, owned by Royal Oman Police, finished fourth .
Twelve horses from OEF competed in the junior category (110 cm height). Madin bin Saeed al Yousifi on ‘Wadood’ owned by Royal Cavalry took the top honours, Mazen bin Saeed al Yousifi on ‘Anbirat’ from Al Seeb Equestrian School was second, Sultan bin Hamoud al Touqi won third place on ‘Abaq’ from the Olympic Equestrian Center.
In middle category (height of 120 cm), six horses competed. Khaled bin Saeed al Wahaibi won the first place on ‘Albi’ from Al Rayyan Stables, Khaled bin Darwish al Subhi on ‘Charming Gil’ from Al Rayyan Stables was second.
Six horses competed in the grand category (height of 130). Hamoud al Touqi won the top honours on ‘Talubat’ from the Olympic Centre, Hamoud al Touqi took second riding on ‘hangover’ and Khaled al Subhi finished third on ‘Perfect’ from the Ryan Stables.
