The Ministry of Manpower has extended the ban on recruitment of expatriates in certain professions for further six months starting from June 1.
As per the decision, the suspension of issuing work permits will continue for another six months for the professions such as salesperson/marketing and purchase managers. This decision does not apply to establishments registered with the excellent grade. The suspension of issuing permits will continue for another six months for carpentry workshops, aluminum workshops, blacksmith workshops and brick factories. It also suspends issuing of permits for another of six months for professions such as construction and cleaning work.
