The police has arrested two youths from the Driz area of Ibri on charges of violating the Telecommunications Law by spreading rumours.  Sources in the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said that the police monitored the circulation of 'warning messages and voice recordings through the social networking programme 'WhatsApp.'  The message was about the presence of a strange and horrifying creature that has been terrifying the residents of houses near the town of Driz. An investigation team was formed to monitor the WhatsApp  groups and the defendants were caught while they were recording an audio clip for the purpose of entertainment.

The defendants have been referred to the judicial authorities for appropriate actions against them.
