By Samuel Kutty — MUSCAT: Jan 29 - Implementation plans for the Tanfeedh project initiatives are on its last leg and are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks. “Performance indicators for each initiative is evaluated after incorporating the public survey feedback. Now the procedures for the plan implementation are being studied and designed,” said a senior official associated with Tanfeedh. The survey targeted 1,000 participants. The number of participants was 2,557. More than 8,000 attended the Open Days for Tanfeedh. According to Shahswar al Balushi, member of the Tanfeedh Advisory Board, announcement on the implementation of the initiative will be made at the earliest in this quarter.
“Once the final designing of the initiatives is done after approval from the respective ministries, they will be sent to the ministry of foreign affairs for its nod for implementation,” he said. The supervising committee for the employment lab held a meeting recently and reviewed the position of performance indicators for the labour market. Tanfeedh, the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification, is Oman’s solution for raising issues surrounding a non-oil future. The projects identified by the labs are to be implemented by the respective ministries and related private sector parties, with the support of the “Delivery Support and Follow-up Unit”.
