Staff career development programme

MUSCAT: Indian School Darsait organised a two-day annual staff career development programme. The programme highlights were inspiring and interactive lectures gave the staff new insights into the teaching-learning process with special emphasis on the ways to help differently-able children. The programme started with a staff meeting where school principal shared the strategic plans and decisions that the school would implement during the academic year.


Two sessions on ‘Effective Communication’ were conducted by Biju Samuel, Vice-President, SMC and main resource person for the event. He spoke about the elements, principles, types and barriers that pertained to effective communication.


In ‘Effective Power Point’ session the principles of simplicity, clarity and progression were deliberated. A session on ‘Common Errors in English Conversation’ was a true eye opener for all the participants. Samuel spoke on ‘Public Speaking’ and dos and don’ts that a good speaker needs to keep in mind.


In her session, ‘Rethinking and Repositioning of School Education’, Leena Francis, Vice-Principal, (Primary Section) stressed on the need to look back to see ahead and discussed in detail the 21st century educational challenges.
