Springer Nature releases book on EFL assessment

MUSCAT: Springer Nature, one of the world’s leading global research, educational and professional publishers, has brought out a new book titled Revisiting EFL Assessment: Critical Perspectives that contains 20 chapters on English as a foreign language (EFL) assessment by specialists in the field.


The book has been edited by Dr Rahma al Mahrooqi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Sultan Qaboos University, along with Dr Christine Coombe from Dubai’s Men’s College, UAE, Dr Faisal al Maamari from the Centre for Preparatory Studies, SQU, and Dr Vijay Thakur from Dhofar University, Oman.


This book examines acknowledged practices and demonstrates to teachers how to make the most out of their assessment practices. It also explores different assessment methods for skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.
