MUSCAT: On the spot environmental clearance for projects is possible provided approval from other authorities concerned is ready. “Discussions are continuing with all the departments to expedite one-stop-shop single window clearance issues,” said Mohammed bin Salim al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs. The minister was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of Oman Society of Contractors on Monday. The one-stop-shop is designed to complete licensing and registration processes promptly and efficiently, and to provide a standard point of entry on the Internet to access government information and services. Nageeb bin Ali bin Ahmed al Rowas, Under-Secretary at the ministry, said that when a company applies for an environment clearance, it should make sure that clearances are obtained from other ministries concerned. He said that all applications are handled with prime importance.
