SOHAR: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated the inauguration of a new facility for the directorate of detention in the Wilayat of Suhar under the auspices of Hussain bin Ali al Hilali, Attorney General in the presence of Gen Hamad bin Sulaiman al Hatmi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, a number of senior officers ROP and the other military and security services, shaikhs, dignitaries and citizens.
The parade rendered the military salute in honour of the chief guest. The parade then passed in front of the dais following which the participants chanted the police anthem.
The parade then exited the parade ground on the backdrop of ceremonial music performed by the ROP music band played music.
The chief guest then announced the official opening of the building.
Speaking at the event, the attorney general said that the detention centres have been accorded a great attention by the ROP commanders in accordance with the laws and legislations.
These centres provide attention to the inmates in a way that
achieves reformation and social integration.
The attorney general hailed the achievements made by ROP which include new buildings and projects as well as developing human recourses to boost security and criminal justice.
