MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Wednesday celebrated the opening of a special task force unit and graduation of a new batch of police recruits in Nizwa. Mohammed bin Salim al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, presided over the function in the presence of Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs and a number of officials, senior officers of ROP, Sultan’s Armed Forces and the other security forces and citizens.
The graduates performed military salute to the chief guest as he arrived at the military parade ground to preside over the graduation ceremony, the parade commander then came forward asking for permission to start the graduation ceremony following which the graduates started to march. The chief guest then distributed the prizes to the excelling graduates. The graduates chanted the ROP anthem (protectors of rights) and took the oath of allegiance and loyalty. Following performing the military salute to the chief guest the parade commander asked for his permission to leave the parade ground marking the end of the graduation ceremony.
