MUSCAT: Light to heavy rains accompanied by active winds were reported in some wilayats on Tuesday as the Sultanate has come under the influence of a trough of low pressure. In the Governorates of Musandam and Al Buraimi heavy rains caused some wadis to overflow and temperatures to drop. According to the Met offices, rain is expected to continue over the Governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and parts of the Western Hajar Mountains. Generally, fine weather to partly cloudy skies will prevail over much of the Sultanate with chances of scattered light to heavy rains. The Met office also predicts late night to early morning low-level clouds on the Governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar. Forecast is for moderate to rough seas on the Sea of Oman coast and Musandam Governorate with a maximum wave height of 2.5 metres.
