MUSCAT: Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hasani, Minister of Information, presided over the conclusion of seventh Ramadhan Football Championship organised by the Ministry of Information with participation of public and private media establishments.
The financial and administrative operations department of the Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART) emerged champions after beating Oman Radio 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw. Oman TV came in third place after beating the Engineering team 6-1.
After the match, Dr Al Hasani praised the performance level of the final match. He also pointed out that media football tournament is an annual gathering and a beautiful sport and social phenomenon during
this holly month for various media institutions to enhance the soul of cooperation, love and kindness among the employees.
Eight teams took part in the tournament, namely the Ministry of Information, Oman News Agency (ONA), Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA), Oman Radio, PART’s Financial and Administrative Operations Sector, Oman TV, Sport Channel and PART’s Engineering Sector.
The concluding ceremony was attended by officials in the Ministry of Information and PART. Oman Taekwondo team gave a show by the Professional Martial Arts and Fitness Academy on the sidelines of the concluding ceremony. — ONA
