One person died and another suffered minor burns following a fire that broke out in a house in Azaiba on Friday, said the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA). Nearby residents said new guidelines should be put into practice for buildings, which include installation of fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and changes to faulty wiring. In another incident, a man died after he fell from the top of a mountain in Wadi Mestal in Nakhl, said a PACDA rescue team in South Batinah.
