By Badriya Al Balushi — QUEENSLAND, April 23 - Omani students showcased their creative talent at an event conducted by the Omani Society in Queensland in the south bank campus of Griffith University recently.

Titled ‘Talent Show’, it was attended by more than 100 Omani and multi-cultural attendees. It included activities such as painting, in which Alen, a student from Mozambique, showcased his works: drawn and painted human faces.

The event saw a photo exhibition by three students, Laith al Shiyadi, Hamed al Medayloi and Saudi Arabian participant Ahmed Leemo. Hamed explained the secret behind some unique photographs and how he learned it.

The show saw poems being recited in four languages — Arabic, English, Spanish and Swahili — by talented Omani student Khalifa al Mandhari.

A motivational speech was made by Khulood al Washahi, a student, titled, ‘How to get out of the usual circle’.

Anfal al Zaabi, Noora al Zadjali and Fatima al Hinai, all students, presented delightful creative science experiments on the occasion.

The event had a competition for the ‘best prepared dish’, in which female students’ team won.

Some traditional activities such as the Omani dance performance called ‘Al Azi’ and a role play were staged.

The event concluded with the rewarding of participants.
