MUSCAT: Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, met in his office on Sunday with the delegation Al Azhar Al Sharif, headed by Dr Abbas Shouman, Under-Secretary of Al Azhar Al Sharif, who is currently visiting the Sultanate, within the framework of the 15th meeting of the Omani-Azhari Committee.
The committee aims at cementing the joint cooperation between the two sides.
The 15th meeting was held at General Diwan of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, within the joint committee between the ministry and Al Azhar Al Sharif during which the two sides discussed the topics listed on the agenda and the latest issues that concern the Arab and Islamic society according to the vision of the two sides.
The Omani side was led by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saud al Siyabi, Secretary-General in the Office of Grand Mufti of the Sultanate in the presence of Dr Zeyad bin Talib al Maawali, Adviser of the Minister for Remote Education, Dr Salim bin Hilal al Kharousi, Administrative Adviser in the Minister’s Office while it was chaired from the Azhari side by Dr Abbas Shouman, Under-Secretary of Al Azhar. — ONA
