Oman to open museum in Kenya

MUSCAT: The National Record and Archive Authority (NRAA) in coordination with the Sultanate’s Embassy in Kenya will open a permanent museum exhibition on Tuesday at the Mombasa Castle after it has been renovated. Dr Hassan Wario, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and the Arts will patronise over the inauguration of the museum exhibition in the presence of ministers, ambassadors, senior officials and a number of Omani personalities based in Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi. Being an important heritage and architectural landmarks, the permanent museum is expected to play important cultural roles affirming the Omani presence in Kenya and reflecting the deep historic relations between Oman and Kenya. The project comes within the framework of positive cooperation between NRAA and the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts in Kenya in the field of culture and records. — ONA
