The first electric car charging stations in Oman will be commissioned on January 18 at three locations -hotels managed by the InterContinental Group (IHG) in Sohar and Muscat. Crowne Plaza hotels in Oman are also managed by the group.

According to estimates, there are roughly 1 million electric cars out of a global fleet of closer to 1.1 billion. According to BHP, the figures could rise to 140 million vehicles by 2035, a forecast it says is on the greener’ end.

Electric cars are expected to soon cost the same as traditional vehicles – as early as next year by some estimates.
