The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement said it expresses its deep regret for the escalation of unjustified violence in Yemen, particularly with regard to the use of ballistic missiles in Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh.

It may be noted that the Saudi Arabia’s air defense forces intercepted a ballistic missile fired from Yemen over the capital Riyadh on Saturday.

The missile was brought down near King Khaled Airport on the northern outskirts of the city and did not cause any casualties, report said.

Rocket fragments fell near the airport grounds, but air traffic carried on normally, the Saudi civil aviation authority said on its official Twitter account.
