Talent Hunters conduct first audition for Muscat Icon

By A Staff Reporter - MUSCAT — Talent Hunters, a name synonymous with conducting quality programmes to promote new talents in the areas of performing arts in Oman, conducted their first auditions recently. This year’s competition is open to age group of 15 plus. Over 70 singers appeared for the auditions which required them to sing one each of slow and fast numbers of their choice to demonstrate their voice quality, passion and knowledge of music.
“We had a tough time in selecting people since majority of singers that appeared for the audition were very talented,” said Dr Sanjay Dalal, Director of Event and founder of Talent Hunters.
Singers who appeared for the first audition were in the age group of 15 to 65 which included professional like businessmen, managers, teachers, housewives, students etc.
Manoj Bhatt, Talent Hunter’s music organiser with some of the memorable music compositions to his credit was very pleased to see the voice quality, knowledge and training elements of singers. Haider Naqvi, who is no stranger to Muscat music scenario and is an accomplished singer, was one of the three judges along with Manoj Bhatt and Dr Sanjay Dalal.
“We are overwhelmed with such a wonderful response and I have no doubts that this year’s programme will be even a bigger success,” said Dr Sateja Dalal, director of administration. Second audition is due in week’s time. Auditions for Arabic singers will follow.
