MUSCAT: National Bank of Oman (NBO) congratulated its SME banking client Shuwa Express on plans to open its first international chain.
Shuwa Express is the first Omani “fast food” restaurant serving the traditional Omani dish Shuwa in a modern style.
The concept has proved hugely popular with both residents and tourists and has attracted interest from overseas investors.
The company has signed a franchising agreement with Jibal Al Rustaq to open multiple outlets across Saudi Arabia, with the first due to open in the first quarter of 2017.
NBO has been involved with Shuwa Express since the company was established in 2013, including providing support, mentoring and a comprehensive suite of financial products that have helped the business to grow.
