Muscat gets light rains

By Lakshmi Kothaneth — MUSCAT: May 14 - Many areas in the Muscat Governorate received light rains on Sunday. According to the Met Office, same weather will continue on Monday as well. “Isolated rainfall towards afternoon will continue to be experienced, but the rain will be less compared with Sunday. On Tuesday morning, there are chances of some clouds along the coastal areas of Oman Sea,” said the weather forecaster. Mainly clear skies have been forecast over rest of the Sultanate on Monday, with chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining governorates towards afternoon and evening.


There are changes of late night to early morning low-level clouds over the coastal areas of Arabian Sea. On Tuesday, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy over Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates with chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers. Meanwhile, the highest temperature was recorded in Fahud, Sur and Al Amerat with the mercury touching 41 degrees Celsius. Jabal Shams was the coolest with the maximum temperature at 20 degrees Celsius and minimum at 12 degrees Celsius.
