Mobile command unit launched

MUSCAT: The mobile command unit of the Centre for Emergency and Crisis Management was launched on Tuesday at the Centre in the Ministry of Health (MoH).


The launching event was held in the presence of Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, MoH Under-Secretary for Health Affairs, along with Abdul Amir Al Ajmi, External Affairs and Value Creation Director at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and WHO representative to the Sultanate.


This achievement came within the PDO social investment programmes to upgrade the social services, and the developmental projects.


Dr Rashid al Badi, Director of the Centre, pointed out that this project will help in preparation and response process, coordinated efforts, as well as guiding resources and ensuring the perfect use of these resources during the emergency cases.


Al Ajmi stated that the unit is well equipped and will improve the capacity and efficiency of emergency cases.


Later, the MoH under-secretary toured the mobile unit and briefed to all its features that will support the response teams.
