As the holy month of Ramadhan is coming to a close, a huge societal set up of shared iftars hosting hundreds of both believers and non-believers too is ending leaving never-fading traits of unity and camaraderie.

People organised iftars at every possible venue, with supports from good Samaritans in the society feeding those in need at sunset.

Masjids, playgrounds, tents and taxi stations stood witness to the perfect lessons of humanity and love, care and compassion for each other irrespective of the nationalities or caste or creed of the beneficiaries throughout the whole month setting unique examples of share and care.

“We organised a mass iftar for more than 600 people from different parts of the world in Sohar after the successful social iftar for more than 2,000 people in Mawaleh market last week,”Jaffer Khan, Business development Manager of Suhol al Fayha, the largest wholesale suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables in the country and organisers of several such iftars said.

The largest iftar in Sohar Baladiya saw local people, vendors at the Sohar Fruits and Vegetable market along with their customers, porters and other staff siting together tasting the moments of iftar together.

This was the first ifthar gathering in Batinah region after its inception last Sep 2016 and it stood out for the overwhelming participation of local vendors and delegates from the ministry.

“We express our sincere gratitude to the market and the governing body for their warm support in the region and we look forward to conduct such events in future too because it helps in bonding together with each other for a harmonious world”, he added.
