MUSCAT, Sept 9 - Nama Group’s Musharaka Conference, the largest virtual conference in the region, commences today.

The first day of the conference will be live-streamed via the internet for the benefit of the power industry’s many stakeholders. The conference papers include the latest global trends and technologies covering a wide range of topics, notably Internet of Things, Smart Grids, and Renewable Energy.

Musharaka 2017 will continue for a week and is divided into three parts: the main day of the conference followed by workshops for three days and then a closing ceremony. During the three-day workshops, the Group’s leading staff ‘Ruwad’ will take part in scenario planning workshops to translate the theme of the conference, “Powering the Future”, into business cases in line with the latest technological developments and renewable energy trends.

The first day of the conference will be broadcasted live from Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) where speakers from international and local companies including Microsoft, Oracle, GE International, Masdar Alternative Energy, CESI International, Protiviti-Oman, amongst other companies, will be participating with ten papers.

The results of the ‘Ruwad’ workshops will be presented at the closing ceremony presided over by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, at the Crowne Plaza Muscat on September 14, in the presence of the decision makers of the Nama Group as well as invitees from the public and private sectors.

Furthermore, the results of this year’s Nama Group Awards will be announced. They include the Nama Group Companies Award (An internal award for the best performing companies in health & safety, customer services and financial performance); Nama Health and Safety Award (This is a new award category launched earlier this year by Nama Group as part of the Group’s efforts to promote a culture of safe practices according to the best international and local standards amongst contractors), and Nama’s Best Employee and Emerging Leader Awards (dedicated to Nama Group’s employees).

Musharaka Conference 2017 is Nama Group’s fourth edition of the conference which was launched in 2013. Each year the Group employees and key stakeholders are invited to participate in the conference and discussions around the Group’s strategic focus areas: customer service, health & safety, service reliability and financial performance.
