Jaalan, Al Rustaq keep momentum with wins

MUSCAT, oct 16 - Jaalan edged Majees 2-1 to keep the lead of Group A after the sixth round of Oman First Division League matches at the weekend.


In the Group B, Al Rustaq overtook Sur to grab the lead. In the Group A match at the Jaalan Club Stadium, Ibraheema and Rashid Ali scored the goals for hosts Jaalan in the first half, while Hasan Rbye scored in the second half through a penalty kick for Majees. At Al Musannah Stadium, Musannah moved to the second position with 6 points after beating Al Wusta 3-1. Tiago, Khalid al Alawi and Yahya al Rasheedi netted for Musannah. Fahad al Balushi scored for Al Wusta. Al Wusta stay at the sixth position with three points.


In Group B, Al Bashaer went past Bidiya 2-1. Othman Buqal and Hassan Mortalla netted for Al Bashaer, while Balbis scored one goal for Bidiya. Despite defeat, Bidiya claimed the third spot on table with 7 points getting the better of Al Bashaer on goal difference. At Salalah Stadium, Salalah and Bahla finished the game with a 1-1 draw. Bahla took the lead through Ahmed al Ameer, while Salalah’s equaliser was netted by Philip. Both the teams are on six points and Bahla took the sixth spot on better goal difference.
