The annual Kindergarten Sports Fiesta of Indian School Al Ghubra took place on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 on the school grounds. After the welcome speech by Neachal Cardozo of KG 2, Papri Ghosh, the Principal, declared the meet open. The torch bearer Kanushi Kishore of KG 2 brought in the flame which symbolized goodwill, harmony and spirit of sportsmanship. The theme of the sports fiesta was ‘The World.’ Groups of colourfully dressed students of KG I marched around the field representing different countries.They were enthusiastically cheered on by spectators consisting of parents, grandparents, teachers and students. A drill display titled ‘Fantastic Fusion’ presented next, combined the briskness of exercise with the grace of hip-hop moves.
This was followed by the exciting fun races which were based on a unique feature of the country chosen by each class. In the prize distribution ceremony, prizes were distributed to all the students by the principal, and a few grandparents of the students. Zainab Nasir of KG 2 proposed the vote of thanks. The day of fun and games ended with the principal, Papri Ghosh declaring the sports meet closed. The KG students and their parents thoroughly enjoyed the day. Many valuable lessons such as the importance of a healthy body, the advantages of working as a team, the stimulus of friendly competition, the satisfaction of a race run well were imbibed by the tiny tots.
