MUSCAT: As part of the 46th National Day celebrations, the Ministry of Information has issued its annual book Oman 2016 which sheds light on the major achievements made during the blessed Omani Renaissance under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in the Sultanate. The book includes 11 features namely ‘The wisdom diplomacy’, ‘Continuous Omani contribution in human culture’, ‘The modern state institutions’, ‘The rule of law’, ‘Facilitating litigations’, ‘The Council of Oman’, ‘Friendship, dialogue and credibility that enhance development and peace’, ‘The citizen as the base for security and safety’, ‘The man as the base for development’, ‘Culture, heritage and arts as windows for Oman’s cultural face’, ‘Economic development’ and ‘Modern facilities and clean environment’.
The book, which starts with quotes from His Majesty the Sultan’s speeches, highlights the new stages of development and construction that aim at developing the modern institutions of the state to meet the needs of continuous socioeconomic growth and meet the aspirations of the Omani citizen in the second decade of the 21st century. The book monitors the projects and achievements which is a reference for media men, academics, researchers, students and others who are interested in the Omani affairs. The ministry also distributes this book onto the Sultanate’s embassies to raise awareness about the Sultanate’s tourism, cultural and economic potentials.
