Indian firm to woo medical tourists from Sultanate

MUSCAT, JULY 16 - A business conglomerate with Omani corporate support is eyeing local medical tourists travelling to India with a wider network and value-added benefits for all prospective visitors.


Green Bowl, a leading Kerala-based medical service facilitator between patients and hospitals for Omanis has launched their identity and its operations in Oman at a function attended by renowned people from both sides.


Green Bowl has tied up with leading medical and healthcare properties in India such as Rajagiri, Aster Group, KIMS, Lakeshore, Renai Medicity, Baby Memorial Hospital, Medical Trust, Dr Tony Fernandez Eye Hospital, PVS Memorial and Lourdes Hospital along with a number of ayurvedic wellness clinics namely, Santhigiri, Punarnava, Vaidya and Sukhayus.


“We are happy to start our operations in Oman. Green Bowl will provide all facilities like free pick-up, appointments, free SIM cards, Arabic speaking assistants and a manager to update and assist the patients”, Robert Jins, Manager of Green Bowl said at a press briefing.


The number of Omani medical tourists visiting India is on the rise and last year alone, more than 72,000 tourist visas and over 900 business visas were issued by the Indian Embassy in Oman with majority visiting the latter for medical reasons.


Abdullah al Amri, who visited Kerala for medical reasons shared his testimony on the excellent wellness and medical packages he received while he was in South India recently in comparison with other medical destinations.


Haitham Muhammed al Jamali, Chairman of Nathan Trading LLC; Geevarghese Yohannan, Chairman, MGM Group India; Dr Paul Abraham, ENT Surgeon at Badr al Samaa Hospital, Al Khuwair; Robert V Kuriakose, Director, Green Bowl Health Tourism; Naufal Sakeer, Manager-Operations at the Green Bowl; and Riyas Kuttery, COO — Mezoon International Travel and Tours LLC were also present at the briefing.


“As part of the launch, we will be providing free angioplasty for 10 deserving Omani patients in Kerala”, Robert and Jose Paul said adding that Haitham al Jamali will be the coordinating point for this.
