SOHAR: The International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) organised an Open Day on Monday at college’s campus in Sohar. This annual celebration aims to improve students’ planning and organising skills through the various educational, cultural and social activities they deliver. It also aims to attract guests from Higher Education Institutions and students of nearby schools, and offer the opportunity for local small enterprises owners to market their goods. The Open Day activities also included sailing club activities, poetry session, stage presentations, exhibition and sport activities.
Salim al Shibli, the Assistant HoD Student Affairs, stated that: “The Open Day is one of IMCO important days and it is an excellent chance for students to present their projects and ideas in a day where everyone is having fun.”
Student Hammam al Abri said: “IMCO Open Day gives us the opportunity to display our academic projects, outside our daily routine”.
At the end of the event the dean thanked all who have participated in the various activities and emphasised that IMCO is looking forward to more events that contribute in developing students’ skills and serving the local community.
