Horse and Camel Festival held in Saham

SAHAM: The 17th annual Horse and Camel Ardha Festival concluded at the Saih Al Tayyibat Racetrack on Saturday under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid al Nuaimi, member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, in the presence of His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad bin Tareq al Said and a number of ministers, members of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura. More than 750 camels and 150 horses from across Oman took part in the 3-day festival. The concluding ceremony started with horse and camel riders entering the racetrack in front of the podium and staging traditional shows followed by Ardha races for camels and horses with the jockeys and camel riders displaying unique skills. A handicraft products exhibition was held on the festival sidelines. — ONA
