Higher education admission results for 2017-18 announced

MUSCAT: The Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) at the Ministry of Higher Education has announced the results for the academic year 2017-18. Dr Hamad bin Khalfan al Nu’mani, Director-General of HEAC, said: “The total seats available in the online admission system of the first sorting are 29,807. The system has displayed 23,462 seats for candidates who have met specifications required for admission at higher education institutions and scholarships. Students approving their seats should complete registration procedures at the institutions they have been accepted in.”
Al Nu’mani clarified the seats were distributed as follows: available seats in government institutions are 18,276. There were 6,345 vacant seats.
Al Nu’mani said the stage of approving offers in the online admission centre is an essential step that a student should not forget. The student can approve the offer either by logging on to the centre’s website using its mobile app or sending a text message to 90190.
