MUSCAT: Haya Water signed an agreement with Tabreed Oman Company to sell treated wastewater. The agreement states that Haya Water shall provide approximately 2,000 cubic metre per day for ‘Palm Mall’ project in Al Maabela to be used for the cooling systems. The agreement was signed by Eng Hussain Hassan AbdulHussain, CEO of Haya Water and Salem Saeed al Farsi, CEO of Tabreed Oman. On this occasion, Hilal Khalfan Nasser al Dhakhry, General Manager of Business Development & Customer Service, said, “We are pleased to sign this agreement with Tabreed Oman as this project is considered the third of its kind after the Panorama Mall project and Sand Castle project. Al Dhakhry predicted that other governmental and private organisations shall follow the footsteps of Tabreed Oman to use treated wastewater instead of consuming fresh water. The cost of treated wastewater is much cheaper than fresh water. Moreover, using treated wastewater reduces the depletion of fresh water as fresh water is considered a national treasure that must be preserved for future generations.
