Haj Mission to leave on August 19

MUSCAT: Shaikh Sultan bin Said al Hinai, Head of the Omani Haj Mission, said that the mission has taken various relevant procedures and maintained coordination in relation to travel procedures inside and outside the Sultanate. The mission will leave on August 19.


Shaikh al Hinai said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the cards of pilgrims will be handed over to enter the camps before going to the sacred lands after taking all the procedures related to the pilgrims of the Sultanate regarding the electronic registration system.


He said that the transfer of Omani pilgrims’ data to the Saudi Haj portal will start this week where the Omani haj companies can take out pilgrim permits from Saudi Arabia, so that to be used by Omani pilgrim to enter the sacred lands.


He added that transfer of data will help haj companies to finalise various contracts and packages of services needed by pilgrims in Medina and Mecca. He pointed out that the Omani mission will go to Mecca and a team will be sent to Madina to serve the pilgrims of the Sultanate, who will come to the city, 9,000 in number, of the total number of Omani pilgrims registered in the electronic system, that stood at 14,000 pilgrims distributed into 66 haj companies.


He added that the departments concerned in the ministry are dealing with the substitute candidates for the abstained pilgrims and that their applications will be processed in the upcoming days.
