Haitham visits heritage sites in Batinah

His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, on Tuesday visited works at historical sites in the governorates of South and North Al Batinah. The minister visited facilities for restoration and maintenance, modern stores to preserve and manage museum collections and antiquities in Wilayat of Barka. He also visited Sohar Fort, which underwent restoration works. The fort will get Sohar fort museum to highlighting history and heritage of the wilayat.

HH Sayyid Haitham also visited Liwa Cultural Centre in the Wilayat of Liwa, which is being constructed, in cooperation between the citizens and Jusoor Foundation, a charitable joint venture between Sohar Aluminum, Orpic and Vale. The minister was accompanied by Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs and some officials in the ministry. — ONA
