PARIS: French former prime minister Francois Fillon would win France’s upcoming presidential election in a runoff against far-right National Front leader Marin Le Pen, according to an Ifop Fiducial poll published on Wednesday. Fillon, currently under fire over allegations that his wife benefited from a fake job as his parliamentary assistant, was seen winning 60 per cent to Le Pen’s 40 percent in the May 7 runoff, in the poll for Paris Match magazine. However, Le Pen was expected to come in first in the April 23 first round, followed by Fillon with 21 per cent and independent centrist Emmanuel Macron at 20 per cent.
