MUSCAT, JAN. 26 -

One week on, the traditional Omani foods and a variety of frankincense products are continuing to attract visitors offering them an experience like never before.

The perfumery pavilions at both venues — Naseem Park and Al Amerat Park — are becoming the cynosure of expatriates who make it to these locations with their families.

On offer are oil concentrates, a variety of sprays, roll ons and creams besides incense sticks at these venues.

“Visitors are amused to see a wide variety of Omani frankincense collections here,” Umm Aiman, an elderly lady who sells them said.

Underlining what she said, some of the visitors whom Oman Daily Observer spoke to said they would want to take a variety of traditional perfumes home.

“I never knew that there were so many variety of perfumes and incense that can be made out of frankincense that grow on trees mostly in Dhofar Governorate,” Hana, a Pakistani visitor said. “These creams are awesome!! I’d try them,” Zarela, a Spanish visitor adds.

Not far from these frankincense shops one can find traditional Omani food stalls which cater to the visitors. “They are delightful and true wonders of Omani food. I’ve been trying different ones almost every other day,” Sweta and her husband Ramesh Chotani said.

Adding to the Omani foods are the sweet delights from Egypt and other Middle East countries. Basbouzza, Umm Ali and Balah el Sham are some of the varieties that definitely deserve a try.
