Education Ministry, Cambridge sign pact

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education signed an agreement with Cambridge University Press to develop science and mathematics Curricula. Dr Hamoud al Harthi, Under-Secretary of Education and Curriculum, and Peter Phillips, the Executive Director of Cambridge University Press, signed the agreement on Monday at the Ministry of Education.


The signing of this agreement follows Ministry of Education’s pursuit to develop the educational system. Cambridge University Printing House will prepare modern curriculum in science and mathematics that keep pace with scientific and technical development.


This aims to train teachers, supervisors and specialists in these two subjects on the developed teaching curriculum methods to provide students with the scientific knowledge, practical skills and methods that help them to be innovative and creative.


It also enables them to compete in various international forums and competitions, and qualify them to enter the local and international labour market.


The Ministry of Education is seeking the best ways to develop school curricula in general and the curricula of science and mathematics in particular. In order to achieve this vision, the ministry has assigned Cambridge University Printing House, which has extensive experience in building curricula and training for all employees in the educational field and school curricula.
