Crackdown on smuggling of cigarettes

MUSCAT: A crackdown was launched on Wednesday on the smuggling of alcoholic beverages and banned cigarettes in vehicles.


Oman Customs, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), cracked down on the smugglers.


In another incident, two persons were arrested in Wadi Al Jizzi, near the Wilayat of Suhar, on charges of smuggling wireless communication devices and alcoholic beverages on the same day.
