According to Abdulrahman al Balushi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CBFS,  “The College is in the forefront of skills development for the banking and financial sectors in the country. We view our collaboration with Smith as a significant step towards increasing the percentage of Omanisation in the middle and senior management cadres in banks and other companies.  We plan to intensify our executive development offerings in the coming days with a focus on increasing the leadership pipeline in the corporate sector”.

In his welcome address, Dr Ahmed bin Mohsin al Ghassani, Dean, CBFS, highlighted the progress of the collaboration over the years as evidenced by the various  executive development programmes (both open enrollment and customised) offered on a wide range of topics such as strategy, change management, leadership for senior managers, middle managers & first line managers, advanced selling skills and marketing. He emphasised that the nominations for these programmes have been drawn both from within and outside the banking and financial sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr David Saunders informed that Smith has been ranked the #1 executive development centre in Canada and top ten in the world by BusinessWeek’s (USA) global survey of open enrollment executive education programmes. The Financial Times (UK) also ranks Smith among the best executive education providers in the world. Thomas Anger stated that Smith is delighted to be associated with CBFS and expressed the confidence that the collaboration would grow stronger in future.
