CAS Salalah discusses academic, social issues of specially challenged

SALALAH: The Committee for Disabled at Salalah College of Applied Sciences (CAS) held a meeting to support the specially challenged people and give them opportunity to grow. The meeting was in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s intention to support the disabled and integrate them in the Colleges.


The meeting was Chaired by Dr Zubeir Izaruku Dafalla, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research. Present in the meeting were Abdel Rauf al Oraimi, Dean’s Office Director and Community Service Supervisor and Heads of Departments and Centres.


The meeting discussed a number of ideas and proposals aimed at the integration of this category with the various segments of the society, orientation of the ministry’s intention towards this goal, necessary means and services that support the disabled and facilitate their study in the College of Applied Science.


The meeting also discussed how to integrate them socially and academically, the obstacles they may face and how to overcome these problems. Raising the awareness among College students to deal with their disabled peer, offering training courses on how to deal with disabled students.
