A calendar spotlights Oman’s culture and heritage

By showcasing some of the stalwarts of the country’s literary scene, this unique calendar is dedicated to Oman’s illustrious poets, who have revealed new dimensions and captured the essence of Oman in all its myriad hues and glory.


This 2017 calendar pays tribute to an array of Omani poets who have enriched the realm of literature with their vivid blend of poetry and verse. 


Khimji Ramdas introduces a special edition of its corporate calendar this year, with the aim of honouring the Sultanate of Oman’s heritage and culture. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has been a great patron of the arts and culture, and what better way could one find to express the nation’s gratitude, than by showcasing some of the stalwarts of the country’s literary scene. This unique calendar, for 2017, is dedicated by the KR Group to Oman’s illustrious poets, who have revealed new dimensions and captured the essence of Oman in all its myriad hues and glory.


Khimji Ramdas Group has been launching innovative themes through its calendars for the past few years, and through this medium has been encouraging local talent and passion.


Oman’s poetic heritage, captured in this creative piece of work, enlivens the aura of the last century, which also resonates with Khimji Ramdas legacy underscored with the values of trust, care and commitment.


Over the past years, the company has celebrated Oman by presenting the country and its people with famous personalities, artists, authors, athletes and associations who have truly upheld the history and ethos of Oman. 2017 is yet another year where the group reminisce the glorious contribution of Oman’s beloved poets, through its calendar.


Paying tribute to Omani poets, Anil Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas, said, “Our calendars have always followed a tradition of highlighting one chosen sector every year, in which it celebrates real people of Oman and their achievements. This 2017 calendar pays tribute to an array of Omani poets who have enriched the realm of literature with their vivid blend of poetry and verse. It features a range of poets such as Hilal bin Bader al Busaidi, who is known as a pleasant poet and has a Diwan — a collection of his best poems; Nasser bin Salem al Bahlani who has produced several oeuvres; Ahmed bin Abdullah al Harthy, known as the east poet who produced various poems in elegy, praise and descriptive styles. The calendar features many other poets, who have contributed in enhancing the status of the domain of Omani poetry. This calendar is an inspiration, honouring the prodigious talents of these poets and will take the readers through Oman’s timeless treasures of their legacy.
