Eid holidays for Oman announced; work resumes on July 2

On the occasion of the Blessed Eid Al Fitr 1438 AH and as per the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al-Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Chairman of the Civil Service Council issued a decision stating that Eid Al Fitr holiday for employees at the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the State Administrative Apparatus will start from Saturday, 29th Ramadhan 1438 AH, corresponding to June 24, 2017. Work will be resumed on Sunday July 2, 2017.
Shawwal 1438 AH moon-sighting will be declared by the competent authorities. The official working hours after Eid Al Fitr holiday will be as it were prior to the holy month of Ramadhan.
The Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court extended his congratulations to His Majesty the Sultan on this blessed occasion, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty, grant him good health, happiness and a long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty for many years to come, the Omani people and our dear country with further progress and welfare under his wise leadership, and all Muslims with blessings and prosperity.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nassir al-Bakri, Minister of Manpower issued a decision stating the Eid Al Fitr 1438 AH holiday at the private sector’s companies and establishments will start from Saturday, 29th
Ramadhan 1438 AH, corresponding to June 24 2017. Work will be resumed on Sunday July 2, 2017.
