Bilateral ties with Jordan reviewed

MUSCAT: Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, received in his office on Tuesday Dr Rifaat Abdel Halim al Faouri, President of Yarmouk University, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, former Director General of the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO).


The Minister of Civil Service welcomed the guest and wished him a pleasant stay in the Sultanate, praising his active role in the development and enrichment of the administrative work in the Arab world, during his tenure as Director-General of ARADO Development from 2007-2015, appreciating his support for the Sultanate’s attitudes and proposals that it presented within the framework of ARADO. Dr Rifaat expressed appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him in the Sultanate, valuing the royal honour conferred on him in 2015 by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, granting him the Oman Civil Order of the second class in recognition of his significant efforts in serving ARADO and its goals.


The meeting also reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Sultanate and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the fields of training, rehabilitation and ways of strengthening them, as well as related fields to scientific knowledge, research and studies concerned with the development of administrative work.


At the end of the meeting, Dr Rifaat decorated the Minister of Civil Service with Khalid Bin Al Walid Medal, which is the highest medal granted by Yarmouk University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in recognition of his role and efforts in enhancing mutual cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the areas of administrative work. — ONA
