Bank Muscat extends support to tourism media workshop in Salalah

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership in sustainable development, extended support to a workshop on tourism media hosted by Omani Journalists Association in Salalah under the auspices of Salim Aufait al Shanfari, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality.


Journalists from across the Sultanate specialised in the field of tourism and hospitality sector attended the 3-day programme held as part of Salalah Tourism Festival.


Bank Muscat pursues a dynamic communication policy, maintaining strong relations with the media.


The bank reckons that a strong media is required to support the efforts of development and serve as an effective tool in showcasing the achievements of the country.


The bank commended the efforts of Omani journalists for playing an important role in supporting the progress and development of Oman.


Yasir Salim Tabook, Senior Regional Manager — Dhofar, said, “The support to the gathering of media representatives in Oman comes in appreciation of the important role played by media in the development march of Oman.


As the nation’s leading financial institution, the bank aims to convey the message of support to all segments of society in contributing to the development of Oman.”


In step with the government’s economic diversification programme, the Imprints CSR initiative launched by the bank has drawn up a programme in association with the Ministry of Tourism to support start-ups, encouraging Omani entrepreneurship in the tourism sector.


The programme aims to encourage Omani youth to focus on providing basic amenities at Oman’s tourist attractions, thereby ensuring sustainable sources of income for the local community.


Awad bin Saeed Baqwair, President of Omani Journalists Association, thanked Bank Muscat for the support extended for the workshop on tourism media.


The private sector support and partnership with the government is important to develop the country’s tourism sector, he added.


Bank Muscat has made its presence felt at Salalah Tourism Festival 2017, the Sultanate’s annual tourism and cultural extravaganza presently under way till August 31.


The bank has extended lead support to the festival as part of its commitment to promoting national celebrations within the framework of showcasing Oman as a unique tourist destination.


The partnership with Salalah Tourism Festival is an earnest attempt by Bank Muscat to propagate the core family values held dear by Omanis.


Committed to making the event a grand success, Bank Muscat aims to unite citizens, residents and visitors in sharing the good times and discovering the joy of being connected.


The bank seeks to serve as a focal point in the preservation of Oman’s rich heritage and culture, encouraging people to maintain a strong link to the country’s glorious legacy, thereby reinforcing the Sultanate’s distinct cultural identity.
