The number of Arabian Oryx has been rising at the wildlife sanctuary over the past number of years with the latest figure pointing to 680 heads of Oryx, according to the Environment Conservation Office at the Diwan of Royal Court. The Office attributed the increase in Arabian Oryx number to tight monitoring by appointing more wildlife rangers who work day and night in protecting Arabian Oryx and the other wild animals against poaching and hunting.
