By Amal Al Riyami — NIZWA: Dec. 3: A sports day was organised for Izki students by the Department of Sports Affairs in Al Dakhiliyah at Nizwa Sports Complex. The event was presided over by Amal bint Khalifa al Shukri, Deputy Director of Educational Programmes, Department of General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah. A total of 120 students from eight schools participated in the sports day activities, which included handball, basketball and table tennis.
Hafsa al Harrasi, a sports activity specialist in the department, said: “I thank all the participating schools for their efforts in the success of the competitions. We always strive to diversify the activities conducted and attract different segments of society.” Al Harrasi and sports teachers from participating schools supervised the competitions. The winning team, which bagged the maximum number of points in all competitions, was Umm Ayman School. Emti School won the second place and Um Al Khair School third. Amal bint Khalifa al Shukri honoured the winning schools.
